Measuring Hints
1 Use a metal measuring tape, not a short ruler or stretchy cloth tape measure. Type your measurements into the space provided and double-check it!
2 Measure all windows, even if they appear to be the same size. The differences may surprise you. We have provided a space on the Measuring Windows page for you to note the Window Location.
3 Draperies that hang over curtains or sheers should be 1" longer and hung to project above the inner curtain.
4 Floor length draperies should end 1/2" above the floor or just short of the pile of a carpet (place a piece of thin cardboard on top of a deep carpet to help measure evenly).
5 The starting point for measuring finished length varies with the rod. With wall-mounted or frame-mounted traverse rods or for pleated headings start measuring 1/2" above the rod.

With ceiling mounted traverse rods, measure from 1/4" below the top of the rod.

With decorative traverse rods or cafe curtains hung by rings, start measuring from the bottom of the ring.
